OUR PROGRAMS

Through the Can I Live Project, students get the opportunity to experience a wide array of careers in the Performing & Media Arts Industries!!! The Can I Live Project offers sessions for In-School Programs & Residencies, After-School Programs & Summer Programs. Our programs are flexible to meet your scheduling needs. TPAC is a registered CPS Vendor and our goals & curriculum for the Can I Live Project are in very close conjunction to the National Educational Technology Standards, as well as the Illinois Learning Standards for English Language Arts, Fine Arts and Social/Emotional Learning (SEL). We want every student who participates in our programs to display a growth in:

                      Program Description




CREATIVE WRITING

Students will learn the importance of positive expression, while being introduced to the many styles of creative writing (Poetry, Spoken-Word, Lyric-Writing, Scriptwriting and more!) Upon conclusion of program, TPAC’s Creative Writing students will have the opportunity to perform or exhibit their original works at a scheduled culminating event. TPAC’s Creative Writing Program helps students develop a richer knowledge of language arts and improved communication skills.

READING / LITERACY

Students will receive reading instruction infused with an intro to film production. Through a balanced literacy curriculum/ instruction, students will broaden their knowledge and proficiency of the language arts. Upon completion of TPAC's reading literacy program students will exhibit their final Media Works at a scheduled culminating event. TPAC's reading literacy program helps students become more motivated readers.

MUSIC PRODUCTION

Students will be introduced to positive expression through music and will explore the technical aspects that are vital to producing a song (ie. Lyric/Songwriting, Producing Tracks, Recording, Performing and more!) Upon conclusion of program, TPAC’s Music Production students will have the opportunity to perform their original works at a scheduled culminating event. TPAC’s Music Production Program helps students stimulate their creative writing & media skills and develop a new sense of self-expression & self-worth.

FILM PRODUCTION

Students will be introduced to basic elements of film: Casting, Sound, Lighting, Sequence, and Editing, as well as other aspects (i.e., Wardrobe, Prop/Set Design and more!) Students will be gaining important skills in problem-solving, understanding and managing complex systems, as well as producing a unique and creative project of their own (i.e., Public Service Announcements, Short Movies and more!) This program will allow students to work in groups, using digital cameras, camera equipment, studio lighting/sound equipment and video editing software. Upon conclusion of program, TPAC’s Film Production students will have the opportunity to exhibit their original works at a scheduled culminating event. TPAC’s Film Production Program helps students develop skills in the media arts and develop a new sense of self-expression & self-worth.

THEATRE/DRAMA PRODUCTION

Students will learn about the basic Theatre fundamentals and production procedures (Story & Scriptwriting, Blocking & Directing, Costume/Prop/Set/Sound Designing and much more!) Students will also learn about the specific Acting Tools that are key elements in the process of communicating ideas to an audience. Upon conclusion of program, TPAC’s Theatre/Drama Production students will have the opportunity to perform their original works at a scheduled culminating event. TPAC’s Theatre/Drama Production Program helps students stimulate their creative writing skills and develop a new sense of self-expression & self-worth.

DANCE PRODUCTION

Students will be introduced to various styles of dance. Students will develop themes, expand personal movement vocabulary, and experiment with different points of view in solo, partnered and group dances. Upon conclusion of program, TPAC’s Dance Production students will have the opportunity to perform their original choreography at a scheduled culminating event. TPAC’s Dance Production Program helps our students experience the beauty, joy and challenge of dance while developing their own creative exposition and self-expression.
